Name • •Spartak Age • •Eight years and six months; 102 moons Gender • •Male Rank • •Elder Patron God • •Wiltran Shift Rarity • •Rare Shift Form • •African Lion OOC Name • •Crisp, yo.
Appearance • •At first glance, one might be appalled by the state of Spartak's pelt. With a second glance, well, one might still be appalled, and maybe a bit more curious as to how this tom could keep himself so homely looking. His pelt keeps an ever messy appearance, with knots and tangles seemingly adorning every inch of his pelt. The mass of fur is long and heavy, and doesn't appear so, but is actually quite soft. His fur is a mix of shades of grey, ranging from the darkest of greys, and to the lightest of greys that almost appear white, most of them a sure sign of his aging. His chest and stomach aren't exactly a change, with a soft white that blends with the grey at some points. As well, all four paws are white, as if he dipped his paws into a saucer of milk.
Underneath the thick and messy coat lies an equally thick framed body, with a heavy set build of a mix of fat and muscle. Having the large body of a maine coon, he was once a force of pure muscle, but since then his muscles have waned in their strength and fat has settled in from his less than active lifestyle. Spartak was never much of a fast runner, and it might have been because of his short legs and heavy body. To match his short legs, and also partly because of them, he is short in height as well. However, he has a long body, and an equally long tail.
Spartak's eyes, his mother's eyes, greatly contrast the dull colours of his coat, with glowing yellow eyes. The golden colour of his eyes seem to become darker and richer as they travel toward the pupil, and a dark brown colour outlines the outside of the iris. He considers these eyes his best feature now, since the rest of his once handsome features are wasting away with age. These eyes also hold the most emotion in Spartak, and it can be easy to tell what he's feeling by this. His cone shaped ears have silver plumes on them, a trait of his breed, which he believes give him 'character'.
Despite being a bit on the older side, Spartak has generally no health concerns yet. He's a bit on the slow side when it get's to movement, and he also can't protect himself as well as he used to be able to, but he's not totally defenseless. The tom still has some good fight in him, and doesn't much have the skills he used to have as a fighter, but underestimating him because he's old would be a bad idea.
All youthfulness returns back to Spartak when he is in his shifter form, with his muscles and speed expanded to back when he was younger. The only sign of his aging would be the fading grey on his chin, but other than that he seems youthful. However, because of Spartak's age shifting takes straining effort to achieve, and so he holds off to shifting unless he needs it. The unkempt look of his normal self is long forgotten in the majestic, wise, and powerful look of the lion. His golden mane is large and kept groomed with minimal amounts of tangles and knots. While he also holds himself more proudly in this form, you would not be able to make the connection between Spartak and his shifter.
Personality • •
With age came great changing in Spartak, and his personality has developed and become something unique to him. The first thing about Spartak that everyone notices, and that is greatly valued in him, is his humor. The cat has a grand sense of humor for his age, that humor can be dark or it can bubbly and clean. His mood, of course, changes the type of humor he displays. He is a sarcastic fellow as well, but he knows when he has to be serious. He's developed this humor from the various 'jokes' Wiltran has placed on him, and he's grown to accept his patron god's humor.
Spartak has gained a significant amount of knowledge through the years. He's gained quite a lot from his training when he was younger, but most of it he learned from experience and rigorous questioning. The tom is wise, and greatly enjoys teaching others. He also is aware that he doesn't know everything, but he pretends he does. If he doesn't know something he searches for the answer, and never quits. He isn't a quitter. Spartak has never been known to give up on anything that he's truly committed to, and he's always looking for solutions to problems.
He doesn't care much for his appearance when he's in his normal cat form, as many have already noticed, but he does care about the quality and beauty of his mane when he's in his shifter form. The reason? Well, he considers himself old and his appearance unchangeable in his regular cat form, but in his youthful lion shifter he finds something worth making appealing. He doesn't need to look attractive in his cat form; all he needs is for people to listen to him. Spartak is a very charismatic, and a great speaker. He knows what to say, and he knows when to say it. He's also great at giving out advice, and he's always willing to help out at the best of his ability.
Despite his misfortunes, he loves life entirely and enjoys being in the tribe. Spartak is well respected by many, young and old, and extends his own respect to each and every cat he's come to know. He holds dearly the gods and goddesses, especially his own patron god, without whom he wouldn't have as much of an interesting life. He isn't as strict as most cats his age are, and understands the naivety of youngsters, for he remembers his own trouble making self.
Spartak holds family as his prime responsibility, closely second would be his elder position, and in that he takes care of his descendants. Even though many of them have unfortunately died, he does hold dear to him his granddaughter, Oceana. He prays to the gods daily for her safety, and places hope in her that she will have better luck than her past relatives.
History • •
Spartak was always the favorite son, for his brother was the uncommon shifter, an elk, and never lived up to his brothers strength as a fighter. Andrei was the faster one though, and could run far when trouble was afoot, but could never turn to fight it. In truth he was sort of a coward, which would probably be why he left the tribe to be a loner. Other reasons would be the unfortunate death of his mother, who never told anyone of her unbearable pain after she gave birth to her kits, and the murder of his father, who many cats secretly despised. Andrei also didn't agree with the way the tribe ran, and thought that he, and many others, were being treated unfairly. So he left in the dead of the night, Spartak only seeing the tip of his tail before he vanished into the darkness.
While Spartak was alone, Wiltran seemed to test him with unfortunate events and pranks that only the god would think funny. Eventually his unlucky streak ended and he met the beautiful Willow, who undoubtedly loved him. The two gained the permission to be mates, and eventually Willow had a litter, a male and a female. Reeve didn't make it past his sixth moon though, and died from the SFC disease, also passing it to his mother, who died because of it as well. The beautiful Helen seemed to have better luck and was paired with a temporary mate when she came of age, and soon enough she was indeed expecting kits. It was long before and during this time that Spartak had begun his quest for more knowledge, and eventually had been promoted to being an elder after having become too old to be a fighter. He was the perfect stereotype for the elder position, but he filled it well.
The birth of Oceana was perhaps the happiest day of Spartak's life, but also the worst. From a death came a life, and that new life was the strange, but beautiful Oceana. The death was Helen, who's small body couldn't handle the labor of giving birth. Since the tom that Helen had mated with was nowhere to be found, Spartak took up the kit, and raised her. He loved his granddaughter and wished of no harm for her, like the past harms that had inflicted their family. From his progression to being an elder, and also the single raising of Oceana, Spartak had gained massive support and respect from other cats in the tribe, and has always been appreciative of it.

ACCEPTED Welcome to the Tribe, Spartak. Just a side-note to keep in mind: Elders, especially at your age, would feel some draw-backs to shifting seeing as it strains the body at such an old age and after so many years of shifting.
